Winter is coming, and as a tall plus size woman there are so many coats you can rock to get that perfect fit. I wrote previously about how many well-known brands do great work to offer a range of plus size, tall coats such as parkas and puffers.
Here, we go through trench coats specifically for when you’re looking to make a statement or just wrap up in cooler weather. I’ve made sure to list lengths, sizes, and sleeve lengths where I can!
best long plus size trench coat picks
london fog ¾ length double-breasted trench coat
Sizes up to: 3X
Length up to: 44”
A simple yet elegant overcoat option from London Fog, a brand that specialize in coats and get rave reviews from tall women the world over.
The thick collar and general ruffled look adds so much texture to this coat and with the soft belt it’s a great example of why trench coats are great for fitting your figure while taking attention away from any parts of your body you don’t feel like showing off.
It’s currently got 4.5 stars from over 1,000 reviews on Amazon, and I particularly love the one review that says “great coat for tall people.” Check!
sumissura custom plus size trench coats

This is definitely on the high end of a budget for a trench coat, but if your search for long plus size trench coats is frustrating you, Sumissura allow you to custom design your own one: I’m talking length, size, sleeve length, everything.
With a range of colors from camel to mauve, these are a high quality item that they promise will be ready within 15 days of ordering.
Sumissura also have traditional winter coats and pea coats available to customize!
wild fable faux leather trench at target
Sizes up to: 30
Length up to: Unknown
An oversized piece here from Target that is highly affordable and would look great styled with a pair of good wide mid calf boots.
This one definitely gives me some ‘Torrid’ vibes, which isn’t a bad thing as Torrid create good tall and plus size options. While there isn’t a specific length measurement, this falls below the knee on the 5’8” model in an XL and a 5’9” reviewer also says this falls slightly above the knee. So I’d probably avoid if you’re 5’11” and over like me, otherwise you won’t get the right flow from this piece.
May be a little tight if I wear a chunky/thick sweater underneath but not a huge deal to me. Definitely going to be a go to fall/winter piece for me, I can’t wait to style it! I’m also 5’9” and the jacket hits slightly above my knee.
london fog single-breasted trench coat
Sizes up to: XL
Length up to: 49”

I love the elegance of this next coat from London Fog and the epaulettes are beautiful additions. I didn’t include this one as high up as it only runs to an XL currently, but you have to LOVE that 49 inch length which is absolutely going to cover very tall bodies!
qufech long-sleeved windbreaker
Sizes up to: 18
Length up to: 37”
Sleeves up to: 24”
Mixed reviews and not really a statement piece, more a functional jacket that you can score on a budget (holla Amazon fashion!)
I did like the fact they actually include the measurement of the pretty decent sleeve length on this for my fellow long-armed women!
hilary macmillan two-tone trench coat
Sizes up to: 4X
Length up to: Unknown
So I know that the plus size beauty Fly for a Ginger made an awesome reel featuring a Hilary Macmillan jacket and it’s seriously made for plus size bodies, I mean, check out how good it looks on her!
The closest coat I could find currently on her website is this two-tone trench with an audacious maroon belt and sleeves. No info on the length, but I like to include more boutique designers like this when I can!
